About
I qualified as an osteopath in 1996 from the then British School of Osteopathy in London, now the University College of Osteopathy. I have worked as a general osteopath for 28 years, working with all ages and a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. In 2011, I gained my specialisation in Postural Stability for Falls Prevention and I have incorporated these methods alongside my general osteopathy work. I currently work in the Saffron Walden Osteopathic Clinic (since 1998), and at Spritely Osteopathy, based on the Science Park in Cambridge (since 2017) My primary focus is promote balance, strength and movement in the over 65s. I have run exercises classes across Cambridge in the C3 Community Church, St George’s Church, Oakington and in my home village of Girton. I have lived in Girton with my family and three dogs since 2000; my hobbies include lifting weights, basic blacksmithing, wood work, tinkering with small engines, and I am a very, very keen gardener ( I particularly love roses, which do well in the clay soil in Girton.)
Age Well Osteopathy
Age Well Osteopathy brings together my passion to promote strength and well being in the over 65s and my training as osteopath to treat general musculoskeletal ailments such as backache, neck strain and hip pains.
My treatment approach is to facilitate joint mobilisation to optimise movement, massage to loosen tight muscles and specific exercises within the patients capabilities to progressively and safely improve their strength and balance. I have a particular interest in working with retired people to optimise their joint and muscle health to maintain their strength, mobility and balance into their old age.
